Module Details
INDICATIVE
This will include but not limited to, ethical principles guiding research practice in a range of disciple areas, carrying out literature reviews, patient and public engagement in research, research governance and applying for ethical approval.
ASSESSMENT DETAILS
You will complete a 4000-word structured research proposal proforma. This will include evidence of your understanding of relevant background research for your project, a clear statement of the aims of your project and a detailed outline of the methods that you will use to collect and analyse data alongside evidence of ethical approval. This will assess learning outcomes 1-3.

There will be opportunities to gain formative feedback through tasks completed during and in preparation for taught sessions. In addition, supervisors will provide feedback on your proposed project aims and methods for data collection and analysis over email or during individual face-to-face or online tutorials.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Taught session (15 hours)

This will consist of 12 hours of lecture and seminar type sessions. In addition, your research supervisor will provide you with support over email and during individual or group supervision meetings.

Guided Independent Study (188 hours)

This will include, but is not limited to, arranging and preparing for meetings with you Research Supervisor, preparing for classes engaging with relevant literature, examining subject specific ethical issues and preparing and completing assessments.
