Module Additional Assessment Details
On completion, you should be able to demonstrate any TWO of the learning outcomes. The two learning outcomes will be assessed by assignments as agreed by your supervisor, which may take the form of reports and/or case studies as appropriate. There is a word limit of 4,000 words for each assignment.
Module Indicative Content
Indicative content: Students will study TWO of the following (guided by supervisor):
Promotion of psychological principles, research, practices, services and benefits.
Providing expert opinion and advice.
Contribution to the development of legal, ethical, and professional standards in Health Psychology.
Dissemination of psychological theory and research knowledge to address current social issues relating to Health Psychology.
Implementation of research-based interventions to change health-related behaviour.
Direction of the implementation of a research-based intervention.
Communication of the processes and outcomes of research-based interventions and/or consultancies.
Provision of research-based psychological advice to aid policy decision making for the implementation of psychological services.
Module Learning Strategies
Individual supervision sessions with Chartered Health Psychologist, placement learning, independent study
Module Resources
CD-ROM and web based databases to review current relevant literature in electronic database format.
Internet access.

Module Special Admissions Requirements
You must satisfy these admission requirements
hold an honours degree recognised by the British Psychological Society as offering Graduate Basis for Registration AND
have completed British Psychological Society Stage One training in Health Psychology (a BPS accredited MSc in Health Psychology)
