2 x Evaluations of Clinical Competence (ECC: weighted at 50% each)

Both elements must be passed in order to pass the module.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module will require trainees to gain an enhanced-level acquisition of the nine overarching competencies, as specified by the Committee for Training in Clinical Psychology, through engagement in clinical practice placements across the year. The nine competencies are:
- Generalisable meta-competencies
- Psychological Assessment
- Psychological Formulation
- Psychological Intervention
- Evaluation
- Research
- Personal and Professional Skills and Values
- Communication and Teaching
- Organisational and Systemic Influence and Leadership
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Scheduled Learning and Teaching Activities: (10 hours
10 hours of Placement Preparation and Models of Supervision teaching.
Guided Independent Study: (890 hours)
890 hours of supervised placement activity. Trainees must spend a minimum of 105 days undertaking supervised practice within a range of human service settings. During this time there are opportunities to learn through modelling and feedback and trainees are also encouraged to integrate clinical experience with academic and research material.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Basic acquisition of competencies required for approved and chartered status as a Clinical Psychologist. (Application, Enquiry, Knowledge & Understanding, Reflection)
2. Ability to work appropriately with a range of clients across the life span, taking context into account and to communicate this clinical experience to others. (Application, Communication, Reflection)
