INDICATIVE CONTENT
In this module you will undertake a piece of real world evaluation within the service with which you have an employment (or honorary employment) contract. You will work collaboratively with your training colleagues and service heads to produce a comprehensive and meaningful service evaluation. You will learn about leadership within the profession of clinical psychology, different leadership styles and models, consider the application of leadership in practice and reflect on ethical, systemic and organisational issues relevant to being a leader. You will be required to take on a leadership role in relation to at least one clear element of a service evaluation.
It is expected that Trainees will organise and deliver a presentation to the key stakeholders in the service being evaluated after the project has been completed. The final report will also be shared with clinical governance teams for dissemination.
Formative feedback will be given on the final report before submission to the service.
ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Trainees will complete and submit their proposal for the evaluation project to the module lead for initial sign-off before submitting to their Trusts clinical governance team for the project to be registered (or for approval by university ethics if completed outside of a NHS placement). Progress reviews are built into the timetable for trainees to present their developing projects to the course team and peers and for discussion and feedback for learning and trouble-shooting any issues that arise during the progress of the project.
The trainees will produce a comprehensive report of the service evaluation for the team consisting of a 500-word executive summary and 4,500-word main report to include critical reflection on their learning from undertaking the evaluation and about leadership, specifically. [LOs 1,2,3,4,5].
