Module Additional Assessment Details
Students will be required to complete 1 piece of summative assessment:
1 x 90 minutes unseen end-of module examination, contributing 100% of the overall module mark which will assess LOs 1 - 3.


Students will be provided with formative assessment and feedback via:
Presentation of a group investigation as "Informed Consumers" into myths and misconceptions in one component of health-related activity and fitness covered within the module.

Module Indicative Content
The module aims to provide students with an introduction to the health benefits of physical activity, exercise and health. This will include basic physical activity assessment methods (physical activity questionnaires, protocols for testing health-related fitness), practical experience at designing and planning a range of exercise programmes for health, techniques for monitoring and evaluating exercise programmes and in assessming health-related activity needs for populations and individuals.
