Module Additional Assessment Details
Students will be required to complete 1 piece of summative assessment:
A coursework essay of 2500 words, comprising 100% of the overall mark assessing LOs 1 - 4.
Students will be provided with formative assessment and feedback via:
- Tutor-led sessions and Peer-review discussion including a student-led epidemiology forum.
- Workshop sessions will develop and understanding of various organisations thier roles and policies.

Module Indicative Content
The module aims to provide students with an understanding of the role of Public Health organisations and how their activities have changed with changing mortality causes, changing technologies and changing social values. The role of physical activity as an emerging area of priority with regard to public health will be outlined. The effectiveness of different health promotion strategies using physical activity promotion will be discussed using evidence and understanding of behavioural epidemiology. Appropriate research methodologies will be outlined and analysed.
