An essay of 2500 words on the development of ethical practice/dilemma within a work context addressing all learning outcomes

Additional Assessment Details (include formative feedback / assessment):
Case studies of ethical problems which are in the public domain will be explored. Groups will be provided with formative feedback around how they develop their discussion and problem identification.


Module Indicative Content
An introduction to key philosophical concepts relating to ethical and moral behaviour.
The application of key concepts to the workplace and the working environment.
The importance of ethical behaviour in public sector organisations.
The ethical aspects of team working and partnership.
The professional client relationship as an ethical problem.
Group analysis of case studies of ethical dilemmas in health care.
The consequences of unethical or organisational dysfunctionality on the provider/user relationship in health eg: Baby P.; the Bristol Heart Babies case.
Whiste-blowing in health and social care.
