ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Design and reflect upon a community-centred approach to health promotion in children, focusing on a particular area of lifestyle, nutrition or fitness. Include consideration of multiple audiences with an influence on this issue and demonstrate the ability to adapt messaging to each. The proposed strategy will be presented along with justification for your chosen approach.



The presentation will constitute 20 minutes plus 5 minutes of questions. This assessment will cover all learning outcomes.

Public Health Approaches to Lifestyle Interventions
WEB DESCRIPTOR
This module explores the role of diet, physical activity, and sleep in promoting health. Study behavioral determinants, prevalence of lifestyle-related diseases like obesity and diabetes, and their impact on chronic disease risk. There will be a particular focus on the impact of these issues on childhood and the implications for long-term health. The module will also cover health promotion strategies, including education, community-centred approaches, and policy implications in fostering lifestyle changes for long-term health.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Key concepts will be delivered through lead lectures delivered through the university’s Virtual Learning Environment. This will then be followed by online synchronous discussion groups/seminars allowing learners to explore key issues and discuss the application to their particular working contexts.
