Module Additional Assessment Details
An ESSAY length 2000 WORDS weighted at 60%. A 15 MINUTE ORAL POSTER PRESENTATION weighted at 40%.
Students will be required to undertake TWO pieces of summative assessment for this module.
An assessment of a group based 15 MINUTE ORAL POSTER PRESENTATION whereby students will be assessed on the content of a poster relative to a chosen target population group. This will contribute 40% to the overall module mark. (LOs 1 & 3)
A (2000 word limited) ESSAY that focuses on a chosen target population group that will contribute 60% to the overall module mark. (LOS 1 & 2)
Formative feedback will be provided following the poster presentations.
Module Indicative Content
The module aims to provide students with opportunities to acquire relevant knowledge and understanding of:
a) the health problems of defined population groups
b) the benefits of health-related activity
c) examples of specific physical activity programmes for selected population groups
Students will also explore exercise-related factors that limit health and fitness from the perspective of their development and management.
