Module Learning Strategies
Whole group sessions will be used to explain and discuss issues raised during work placement.
Student led small group workshops to share workplace learning experiences.
One to one tutorials will be used to give students more active learning enabling individual workplace environments to be discussed with the module tutor. (Further tutorial time can be arranged with the tutor if needed by individual students).

Practice based learning
This will involve the observation and interaction with professionals and service users, interviews, reflective practice and applying learning to own practice.

Module Indicative Content
Experience of contemporary practice in a modern adult social care workplace. Consideration of the importance of enabling wellbeing and the national and local policies that govern adult social care practice and intend to support this, including professional regulation, roles, responsibilities and accountability; safeguarding; health and safety; legislation; confidentiality and record keeping. Support will be given to develop skills of self awareness, self-assessment and reflection and gain and enhance a range of transferable working skills relevant to personal and professional development.

Description of work setting aims and functions and an evaluation of how this service fits into the wider framework of adult care provision
Apply relevant codes of practice, European, UK, local and organisational legislation and policy to safe, competent and legal practice
Personal Development Plan identifying areas for development
Evaluation of personal and professional skills and demonstration of a developing value base in relation to adult social care practice
Formative
You will receive formative feedback from peers and tutors during class-based tasks and discussions, and from your mentor during mentoring sessions. You will also receive formative feedback regarding your assignment during personal tutorials.
