Module Indicative Content
Understanding Basic Concepts.
Use of a range of computer-based applications including work, powerpoint, excel, access and e-mail.

Organisation - management of computer-based material.

Communication using electronic sources.
Module Additional Assessment Details
Summative Assessment:
Basic Concepts Online Assessment (weighting 20%)
Class Tests, 3 x 1.5 hours (weighting 3 x 20% = 60%)
Powerpoint presentation file (weighting 20%)

Student must pass all elements of assessment.

Formative Assessment:
Feedback during workshops on tutor-set exercises.
Module Special Admissions Requirements
This module is only available to students enrolled on the BA (Hons) Social Work degree. Students must pass this module by the end of their Honours level in order to meet the professional requirements of the General Social Care Council. Students are strongly encouraged however to complete this module by the end of their certificate level studies and should have successfully completed the module before proceeding to honours level.
