Summative assessment
Written assignment 60% (3,000) (LO1, 2 & 3)
Produce a written assignment that analyses case studies of leadership and management from practice. Demonstration of a critical understanding of the importance of effective leadership and management to the safe, legal delivery of contemporary adult care services and the performance of organisations, teams and individuals will be required. The assignment should evaluate the extent to which leadership and management is influenced by organisational strategy, professional regulation and national policy and the way in which it can influence organisational culture and performance.
Viva Voce (15mins) 40% (LO4)
You will take part in a structured discussion with tutors in which you provide an individual, reflective account of your developing self-awareness, personal and professional development and demonstrate consideration of how your approach to leadership and management impacts their colleagues, peers, social care practice and performance.
Students need to pass both elements to pass the module.
Formative assessment
Students will receive formative feedback from peers and tutors during class-based sessions and from tutors during personal tutorials regarding assignment preparation.
