Formative Assessment:
Group discussions and reflection as part of the professional development days

Summative assessment:
You will produce a 2500-word assignment based on your own practice during your first placement, evidencing all learning outcomes.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module alongside Social Work Practice Learning 1, will support you in developing the reflective practice, and analytical skills required for social work. Teaching and learning during the professional development days (PDDS) will focus on:
- Reflective practice
- Application of social work theory
- The relationship between law and practice
- Social work values and decision making/ethical dilemmas
- Communication skills in practice
- Professional identity and accountability.
WEB DESCRIPTOR
This module offers the opportunity to develop confidence and skills in reflective practice. Through exploring the methods, tools and theory that underpin reflective practice, you will reflect on and analyse your practice throughout their 70 day placement, enabling you to complete a final reflective essay with confidence.
