Module Indicative Content
To apply the skills and knowledge gained through the Research Methods module to an independent piece of work, on a topic chosen by the student, undertaken through a literature survey.

This includes:-
- Application of Social welfare and research ethics;
- Surveying existing knowledge and research evidence on a topic of interest - using literature, Internet and secondary sources
- Defining a research question
- Conducting a literature review and evaluating previous research in the light of central theoretical issues in Advice Work
- Analysing results of literature review
- Dissertation and report writing
Module Learning Strategies
WHOLE GROUP SESSIONS
Will be held to give students an overview of the requirements of the module, assessments and dissemination (5 HRS IN TOTAL)
INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS-
TUTORIAL. Students will receive support and guidance in relation to their individual research (10 HRS IN TOTAL)

INDEPENDENT STUDY 285 hrs this includes engaging with study materials in blackboard
