A critical appraisal and application of research in social work practice 3000 words (assessing all LO's)

Module Indicative Content
In relation to social work research this module will seek to enable the student to develop a knowledge and understanding of:
Research methods and methodology (and a thorough understanding of the difference)
Research paradigms
Epistemology- truth
Reflexivity in research
Ethics (as a process) and -
Ethical sensitivity
Understanding data collection ¿traditional/ contemporary approaches
Data analysis - differing approaches to the analysis of data (in keeping with the overall research paradigm and methodology)

This module is open to students enrolled on the BA (Hons) Social Work and builds on both their classroom and practice learning at Level 5.
