ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Formative assessment:
You will be required to complete a range of tasks by your practice educator &/ on-site supervisor (also known as a work-based supervisor). These may include, reflective logs or diaries, written tasks, verbal discussion, formal or informal presentation.

3 x Successfully completed direct observations of practice, including evidence of preparation, observer feedback and student reflection on the observation
500-word reflection on feedback from people with lived experience
3 x 750-word critical reflections mapped to the PCF super domains (NB an additional reflection will be required from students where the concerns process was initiated/followed)
A 250-word reflection on the use of digital tools to aid social work practice e.g. assistive technologies, digital recording systems, or the ethical use of AI

Professional Portfolio evidencing learning outcome 1, this is a pass / fail element of the assessment strategy for this module.
Assessment 2: Critical Incident Presentation
You will be asked to present for 30 minutes, including 5 minutes for questions, on an incident that occurred in practice, that was critical in your development as a confident, skilled social work practitioner.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
You will complete a 100-day practice learning opportunity (placement) where you will have the opportunity to demonstrate that you have met the requirements of the Professional Capabilities Framework at the End of Last Placement / Completion level. Your placement could be in any relevant setting and will have been quality assured to ensure that it provides suitable opportunities to demonstrate your capabilities.
During your placement, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge, critical understanding and application of theories, concepts, and values of social work. You will utilise a range of social work skills to provide and support service users their families and carers.
Your learning and assessments of your capabilities will focus on the domains of the Professional Capabilities Framework at the End of Last Placement / Completion level.
During the placement, you will attend 4 Professional Development Days (PDD) at the university where current themes and issues will be discussed, and links formed between theories, law, and practice.
WEB DESCRIPTOR
By undertaking this module, you will be given the opportunity to undertake a 100-day placement where you will be required to complete social work interventions that involve working with risk and complexity. Through these placements, you will develop your confidence and skills in critical application of the legal frameworks for practice and the wider evidence based that informs robust assessment and decision making in social work practice. You will be supported by experienced social work practitioners, who in their role as practice educator, will facilitate critical reflection and application of the knowledge, skills and values required to be a professional social worker.

You are required to complete 100 full days in practice. Attendance at all of these is mandatory, and any missed days, regardless of the reason, must be made up at the end of placement.
