Module Indicative Content
The focus on the module will consist of a study of the professional capabilities framework (PCF) capabilities and the HCPC standards of proficiency (SOPS) in relation to the experienced practitioner role within the PCF. There follows an exploration of the value base of the profession, and specifically a focus on the HCPC standards of conduct.
Within this context, students will apply this knowledge to their specific role, and identify the key attributes of an experienced practitioner. By use of reflection, analysis and critical thinking, the student will identify their developmental needs in relation to the identified role.
Module Learning Strategies
Scheduled Learning and Teaching Activities: (10)
Learning time at the university will be 2 days x 3 hours, and 1 day x 4 hours = 10 hours
This will include the following approaches to support and enhance learning:
5 hours Seminar Input and Lectures
4 hours small group work and reflexive discussion
1 hours assignment workshop
Guided Independent Study Hours: (140)
20 hours Reading/reflection/work based time between taught days is 4 periods
120 hours Work on assignments to include Blackboard supported learning in preparation for formative assignment and discussion forums.
