Module Additional Assessment Details
Students will be required to complete 2 pieces of summative assessment:

1. Conduct and evaluate a short coaching practical. The conduct of a short (eg 10 minute) coaching session to a small group will assess LOs 1 & 2.

2. A 1000 word written evaluation of the session will enable students to demonstrate LOs 1 and 3.

Students will be provided with formative assessment and feedback via opportunities to practice observing and analysing coaching sessions from video (in lectures) and during practical sessions.

Module Indicative Content
The module aims to provide students with an introduction to the coaching process and the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in coaching groups and individuals. Principles of effective planning, organising and conducting coaching sessions will be covered and introduced in lectures and developed in practical sessions.

In addition, students will be introduced to risk management issues that affect coaches and coaching sessions.
