Module Details
Module Indicative Content
The module aims to provide students with an introduction to "principles of play" in racket sports, such as attacking and defensive strategies, singles and doubles play. The applications of these principles in a variety of racket sports will be considered. The laws of racket sports will be considered and the different approaches to officiating considered. The structure of the various governing bodies and the various qualifications available in racket sports will be described. The application of the principles of coaching and teaching will be applied in the racket sports setting.

Module Additional Assessment Details
Students will be required to complete 1 piece of summative assessment.
Video analysis of selected team games situations (assesses learning outcomes 1 & 2)

Students will be provided with formative assessment and feedback via opportunities to practice observing and analysing from video (in lectures) and during practical sessions.
