Module Indicative Content
This module aims to provide an introduction to the key specialist areas within the discipline of sport, health and
exercise management. These areas include management theory and leadership marketing, law, facility planning
and management, human resource management and project management.
Module Learning Strategies
12 x 1 hour tutor-led lectures

12 x 2 hour case study analysis

114 hours of independent preparation for case studies and analysis
Module Additional Assessment Details
1. Research, present and discuss a contemporary management issue. (Not graded, formative assessment).

2. Present a 2000 word written paper comparing the differences and similarities between theory and practice in sport,
health and exercise management. (The paper may take the form of an article, report or other applied written
form to be decided by the module leader). This will assess LOs 1 and 2.
