Module Indicative Content
The Module covers:
1. Selected theoretical; approaches to understanding human behaviour within sport and exercise settings.
2. Basic processes underlying learning and performance in sport using a human cognitive model.
3. Selected psychological theories that have been applied to exercise adoption, participation and adherence.
Module Additional Assessment Details
Students will be required to complete 1 piece of summative assessment.
1x 2000 word portfolio which will assess learning outcomes 1, 2, 3, and 4. This will consist of 3 x 600 word essays and a series of short answer questions based on material covered in the lectures and in independent study.
Students will be provided with formative assessment and feedback via VLE directed assignments and sample questions on module related topics.
Module Learning Strategies
Students will participate in a combination of lectures and independent learning activities designed to illustrate and explore the relevant concepts.

86 hours student-led independent study including assigned readings (24 hours) and self-study material via the use of the VLA (62 hours)
40 hours preparation for the 2000 word portfolio.
