Module Details
Module Indicative Content
The 24 weeks of the module will cover sport psychology, motor learning, exercise psychology, and physical activity.

Content includes

1. Selected theoretical, approaches to understanding human behaviour within sport and exercise settings.
2. Basic processes underlying learning and performance in sport using a human cognitive model.
3. Selected psychological theories that have been applied to exercise adoption, participation and adherence.
4. The benefits of physical activity behaviour as part of a healthy lifestyle and understanding of the prevalence of physical activity world-wide
5. How physical activity can be measures among individuals and populations.
Module Learning Strategies
Students will participate in a combination of lectures, labs and independent learning activities designed and delivered through Blackboard / Moodle to explore the relevant concepts.

Module Additional Assessment Details
Students will be required to complete 2 pieces of summative assessment.

1. A 90-minute unseen exam covering sport psychology and motor learning. This is worth 50% of the module grade. This assessment covers learning outcomes 1 and 2.
2. A 90-minute unseen exam covering exercise psychology and physical activity. This is worth 50% of the module grade. This assessment covers learning outcomes 3, 4 and 5.

An overall 40% is required to pass the module and a minumum 20% in each element of assessment to successfully pass the module.

Students will be provided with formative assessment and feedback via Blackboard related assignments and sample questions on module related topics.
