Indicative Content
In this module students will be introduced to a number of psychological concepts that have applications in sports settings:-
1. Selected theoretical, approaches to understanding human behaviour within sport and exercise settings.

2. Basic processes underlying learning and performance in sport using a human cognitive model.

3. Selected psychological theories that have been applied to exercise adoption, participation and adherence.
Assessment Details
Students will be required to complete 1 piece of summative assessment.

1. A 90-minute unseen exam covering sport and exercise psychology topics. This is worth 100% of the module grade. This assessment covers learning outcomes 1, 2, & 3

Students will participate in a combination of lectures, labs and independent learning activities designed and delivered through Blackboard to explore the relevant concepts.  Contact hours: (24) 12 hours of lectures (1 hour each) 12 hours of labs (1 hour each)  Independent Study Hours: (138.5) 12 hours of Blackboard related tasks (1 hour each) 50 hours preparation for the exam 75.5 hours study-led independent study including assigned readings and self-study activities as presented via Blackboard.
