Summative Assessment:
A 1000 word report on the 4 x 30 min fitness instruction sessions, contributing 50% of the overall
module mark which will assess learning outcomes 1 & 3

Perform 4 X 30 minutes fitness sessions - compulsory observations which you must pass

1x 1000 word assignment contributing 50% of the overall module mark which will assess learning
outcomes 2 & 4.

Additional Assessment Details:
Students will undertake formative assessment and feedback via:
Weekly tutorial support
Small Group Review meetings
Activities on the vle

Students will have a 15 week tutor-led lecture programme.

3 hours per week, totalling 45 hours:
- 15x 2 hours tutor led workshop programme
- 15 x 1 hour tutorial

The module aims to provide students with an introduction to:

The benefits of physical activity
The components of physical fitness
Basic physical activity assessment methods
Practical experience of safe and effective exercise for developing physical fitness
Techniques for monitoring and evaluating individual activity needs and status
Nutritional requirements of a specific training regime.
