Module Details
Module Indicative Content
This module provides an understanding of contemporary topics in sport and exercise psychology focusing broadly on issues arising from the study of individual differences, affective states (e.g., anxiety and mood) and social factors (e.g., leadership and group cohesion). Students will be provided with theoretical and research knowledge on a range of contemporary sport and exercise psychology related issues. Sport and exercise research methodologies will be explored and critically analysed. The importance of engaging in exercise or physical activity from a broader society perspective will also be outlined.

Assessment Details
Students will be required to complete 2 pieces of summative assessment.

1. A 2000 word lab report. This is worth 50% of the module grade. This assessment covers learning outcome 4.

2. A 2 hour seen exam. This is worth 50% of the module grade. This assessment covers learning outcomes, 1,2, 3, and 5. Final assessment

An overall 40% is required to pass the module - each element of assessment does not have to be passed but a minimum 20% must be achieved in each individual assessment to successfully pass the module.

Students will be provided with formative assessment and feedback via Blackboard related assignments and sample questions on module related topics.
