Module Indicative Content
- Identify the advantages and disadvantages of research methodologies using research to evaluate the main points.
- Discuss research tools used in the data provided and identify strengths and weaknesses of these methodologies.
- Analyse and interpret data provided and present findings.
- Identify trends.
- Produce a skills audit appropriately linked to own career aspirations.
- Compare own skills, knowledge and attributes to those required for the identified role.
- Identify, review and critique personal targets that have and will continue to support progress throughout all of your modules on your educational programme and / or chosen career.
Module Additional Assessment Details
A range of formative and summative assessment methods will be used which are appropriate to the teaching and learning delivery method, mode of attendance and proposed weighting criteria used for this module, and as reflected within the Scheme and Award specifications.
A contextualised and approved assessment strategy and schedule will be published to students by award.
With regards to the HREF students, the Module will be split into two assessments (identified below), which will require them initially to analyse their current skills and then identify possible career enhancement opportunities in their working environment via reflection and the production of an action plan.
All learning outcomes are covered by the three assessment methods
1. Research task - 1500 words (addressing LO's 1 and 2)
2. Reflective Log and Action Plan - 1500 words (addressing LO's 3 and 4)
Students must attempt all assessments and achieve an overall pass grade for the module
Formative feedback will be provided in a variety of forms, including written feedback on proposed titles, outline assignment plans and full drafts
Feedback may take place via full-class, group and individual tutorials
