Module Additional Assessment Details
A range of formative and summative assessment methods will be used which are appropriate to the teaching and learning delivery method, mode of attendance and proposed weighting criteria used for this module, and as reflected within the Scheme and Award specifications. Formative feedback will be provided in a variety of forms, including written feedback on proposed titles, outline assignment plans and full drafts. Feedback may take place via full-class, group and individual tutorials.
A contextualised and approved assessment strategy and schedule will be published to students by award.
The summative assessment for the Psychology of Sports Coaching module will be split into two assessment types. The modules assessment will be a web-based blog (60% of module grade / 2000 word limit) on `Sport Psychology and the Relationship between Arousal and Stress¿ (LO1; LO2; LO3) and an individual presentation (40% of module grade/ 20 minute duration) on `Team Cohesion & Psychological Skills Training¿ (LO4; LO5).
All learning outcomes are covered by the two assessment methods: Assessment 1 = LO1, LO2 & LO3 and Assessment 2 = LO4 & LO5. Students must attempt all assessments and achieve an overall pass grade for the module.
Learning Strategies
This module contains a combination of face to face and blended learning. Lectures, seminars and practicals will be interactive and require full participation. Some seminars will be student led and facilitated by the lecturer.Independent study tasks will be set but further idependant study will be required. This may include reading around module topics, discussion based activities or investigating current theory and practice associated wth the module. Student led independant study will be required specifcally for assessment preparation.
