ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Assessment 1 (assessing LO's 1 and 2 worth 40% of overall module grade) 1500 word report

A written report that examines the current football development landscape, with specific attention paid to the current initiatives that are used develop a range of Football Association targets outlined in the National Strategy and the impact that these have on these targets.

Assessment 2 is to be assessed across 2 parts, and is worth 60% of the module grade and assesses LO's 3 and 4. The two grades achieved within each part will be added to give one grade for assessment 2.

Part 1
To deliver a 10- minute oral presentation of a detailed proposal to develop football in line with the guidelines provided. This is worth 20% of your assessment 2 grade and assesses LO3.

Part 2
To work as part of a team to plan, manage and evaluate your initiative(s). Attendance at these events are compulsory. Students must attend and contribute to the planning and delivery of the initiative activities in order to pass this module. Students will be expected to undertake a key role within the organisation of the activities. Each student is expected to submit a portfolio of evidence that documents the activities that have taken place, to include an activity log, example materials used to plan, promote and deliver the initiatives that have been planned. This portfolio will be used to produce a 800 word written report reflecting upon the planning, promotion and delivery of the initiative.

This is worth 40% of your assessment 2 grade and assesses LO4.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
The central aim of the module is for learners to examine the existing contemporary football development initiatives that are employed by National and Local Football Association bodies to develop the game in line with the current National FA strategy. Once examined, students will propose and plan an initiative that supports the local FA strategy and targets set in their local delivery plan.

Within the module students will examine;

• The structure of the current sport and football development landscape
• Current FA National and Local strategies
• Current contemporary football development initiatives used to support Local and National delivery
• Funding streams that support such initiatives and how these can be accessed effectively
• The impact these initiatives have on existing barriers to participation
• Successful project management including; proposal, planning, target setting and evaluation
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Students will follow a thirty week guided study programme and access support material via the college VLE. The module will consist of 3 hours per week.

The module will include:

2 hours of lectures per week
1 hour of seminar discussion per week

Guided Independent Study: (210 hours)
60 hrs background reading,
60 hrs assessment planning and initiative delivery.
