Special Admissions Requirements
Students must be enrolled on the BA Sports Coaching award. Students will be required to obtain DBS clearance.

Students with adverse entries (e.g. drink driving, drunk & disorderly, cautions) are interviewed/risk assessed as to the likely effects of how this may affect placement arrangements. Even if the placement is authorised by the University to proceed the host organisation has power of veto not to take the student on placement.

It may NOT be possible to find a suitable placement under circumstances of an adverse DBS report. In such cases, it is usually possible to transfer to an alternative degree, (BA) Sports Studies to enable continuation of study to occur.

In addition, students who have displayed poor attendance and reliability profiles in level 4 without satisfactory explanation may be subject to a counselling interview with the course leader to determine their suitability to go on placement. If commitment to attending a placement arrangement cannot be determined, students may be required to transfer to (BA) Sports Studies to enable continuation of study to occur.
