2. Create an infographic on an area of developmental psychology based on 5 research papers (LO 2-3) 50%
Indicative Content
• Students will develop their knowledge in the area of social and developmental psychology in the context of sport and exercise psychology. This module will develop students conceptual and historical appreciation of social and developmental psychology in the context of sport and exercise.
• In particular, students will develop critical knowledge of traditional and contemporary theoretical approaches to social psychology in sport and exercise, including the areas of cohesion, social support, leadership, climate, and the social identity approach.
• Students will learn about evidence-based interventions in the area of social psychology. Students will also develop critical understanding of typical and atypical development, focusing on areas such as transitions, the athlete lifespan, and parental influences.
• Students will gain an understanding of the ethical research practices within the areas of social and developmental psychology in the context of sport and exercise.

Scheduled Learning and Teaching Activities:
Contact hours:
5 hours of scheduled tutor support/supervision.
Guided Independent Study:
13 x 1 hours of video lectures will provide a general overview of themes and topics covered in the module.
13 x 18 hours of engagement with weekly tasks and activities (e.g., consolidating video lectures, reading and engaging with resources/links, enquiry based learning, discussion boards, formative assessments).
