INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module aims to bring together all the theoretical and practical knowledge that has been taught on the course in a real-life environment.
Students will be responsible for contacting potential placement hosts and they should aim to undertake placements at a minimum of two different organisations. Ideally these will be from different areas of sports therapy (e.g. sports massage clinics / sports teams / physiotherapy clinics) to gain as much global experience of the industry as possible.

In order to gain accreditation from the Society of Sports Therapists, students should evidence a minimum of 200 placement hours.
ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Assessment 1: Coursework: A reflective piece utilising a well-known reflective cycle based upon the students experience throughout the module. Learning outcome 1.

Assessment 2: Placement: Produce a logbook for >100 hours of placement. Learning outcome 2.

Formative Assessment: Students will be able to submit a draft reflective piece for feedback to the module tutor mid way through the module.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
In order to provide the best learning experience to our students, the sport therapy team is committed to providing an environment that supports and encourages students to develop their knowledge, understanding and technical skills. To achieve this, we use a variety of teaching and learning techniques to meet the diverse needs of our students. These techniques include, but are not limited to, problem-based learning, context-based learning, simulation, and peer to peer learning. This approach ensures that students are able to contextualise their knowledge and understanding and best prepares them for employment.

Students will be required to be at a placement host for the majority of this module. Students will refine their skills within the Staffordshire University Sports Therapy (SUST) Clinic and at an external placement. Students are highly encouraged to observe practices of the host and look to engage above and beyond their duties with the host, for example to assist where appropriate, to further develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of the host environment.¿
