ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Summative
Assessment 1 is a 15-minute video diary or a 1500-word written reflection.
The video diary entries should be 2-3 minutes in length. For the written reflection, reflective accounts of five meaningful experiences (totalling 300 words per experience) should be produced. This assessment will require information on organisational analysis, the mission of the organisation, your personal role and responsibilities within the organisation, whilst reflecting upon your experience and development over the duration of the placement. This will assess learning outcomes 1 and 2.
Formative
Formative assessment will form a key aspect of preparing students for their summative assessment. All students will receive a formative assessment opportunity as part of the module.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
The module aims to provide you with the opportunity to learn experientially through a placement experience. Throughout the teaching material and resources, there will be a focus on the organisation that you conduct your placement with and their organisational structure, mission, market, as well as the operational elements of specific roles within sport, exercise and/or physical education organisations. You will explore your own personal and professional development by reflecting on your own areas of strength and weakness in relation to the industry. Reflective practice will be explored and specific frameworks for you to base your reflective practice around, for example, Kolb’s Experiential Learning Cycle (1984). Personal and professional development, how to reflect in and on-action and professional standards whilst on placement will form the majority of the learning content within this module. This will therefore enable you to adequately reflect on your learning journey as you undertake your placement.
