Module Details
Module Learning Strategies
Content will be delivered off-site by K2. The following learning strategies are therefore presented

Scheduled Learning and Teaching Activities: (14 hours)
8 hours - Performance Coaching Conversations Masterclass
3 hours (minimum) - Individual Supervision meetings with course tutor
3 hours (minimum) - peer support meetings

Guided Independent Study: (136 hours)
1 hour - Preparation for Masterclass - reading
20 hours - Reading as directed through the module
15 hours - Reflection on reading, with associated assessment preparation
20 hours - Experiential practice - preparation, delivery and follow up with performer
30 hours - Reflection on coaching conversations, with associated assessment preparation
20 hours - Preparation for and reflection on supervision meetings, with associated assessment preparation
20 hours - Other development activities (e.g., discussion forums, watching videos and interacting with other media) and reflection
10 hours - Assessment preparation

Module Indicative Content
This module considers using contemporary psychological theory, and techniques to enable students to increase their knowledge and skills when working with individuals in performance-based situations. To this end, the module includes content on the following themes:

- Defining coaching and performance coaching
- Identifying the qualities, skills and behaviours required to coach and support performance improvement
- Understanding the content and structure of a performance coaching conversation
- Coaching process models - (e.g., the Push-pull model and Drama Triangle)
- The K2 performance model - using it to underpin coaching conversations
- Coaching with the Performance Pie and 3 Cs model
- Using tools and techniques with performers
- Getting going - core principles to support your coaching conversations
Module Additional Assessment Details
This module includes two pieces of summative assessment, both worth 50% of the overall module mark:

1) A 30 minute observed coaching conversation and oral reflection - 50% (assessing LO's 1, 2, 4) - demonstration of core questioning, reflection and directing skills; evidence of underpinning use of coaching process and K2 performance models; use of tools and exercises as appropriate (to be completed during the Masterclass)

2) Completion of Coaching Portfolio (2500 words) - 50% (assessing LO's 3, 5 and 6) - on-going reflective log of coaching conversations. Candidates must:
i) accumulate in excess of 10 coaching conversations with 10 hours of coaching (as minimum);
ii) complete a coaching log sheet and reflection for each of these coaching conversations
iii) complete 3 reflection sheets on selected readings on high performance or coaching topics
iv) complete 3 reflection sheets on peer discussions and/or supervision sessions
v) complete a written reflection on the application of skills, tools and expertise into the workplace role, including future development plans.
