Module Additional Assessment Details
This module includes one piece of summative assessment.
The module is assessed through the completion of an Applied Performance Coach Portfolio which is equivalent to 3000 words. The portfolio will comprise an analysis and reflection of key coaching process models (including the K2 model; 1000 words), a case study detailing the application of the K2 coaching model to underpin a coaching session (1000 words), and 25 minutes worth of presentation slides on positioning and `selling' performance coaching to teams and leaders in my business.
This portfolio is worth 100% of the module mark and assesses LO's, 1, 2, 3, and 4

Module Indicative Content
This module considers using contemporary psychological theory, evidence and techniques to enable students to develop their knowledge and skills as a performance coach. To this end, the module includes content on the following themes:
- The role of the performance coach in coaching performance in business
- The elite coach - attributes, qualities, behaviours of the performance coach
- Coaching process models - identifying and discriminating between various coaching models - their relevance and utility in coaching performance
- The K2 performance model - balancing the demands against the resources - theory, application and coaching relevance
- The structure and rhythm of a coaching session
- Boundaries, expectations and contracting for coaching
- Coaching in your business - key principles for establishing performance coaching
Module Learning Strategies
Scheduled Learning and Teaching Activities: (24 hours)
8 hours - `The Performance Coach' Masterclass
8 hours (minimum) - Individual and/or group supervision sessions with course tutor (also contributes to Performance coaching in Action)
8 hours (minimum) - Peer supervision - individual and/or group (also contributes to Performance Coaching in Action)
Guided Independent Study: (126 hours)
4 hours - Preparation for Masterclass - reading
30 hours - Reading as directed through the module
40 hours - Experiential practice - preparation, delivery and follow up with performer
30 hours - Reflection on coaching conversations, with associated assessment preparation
30 hours - Assessment preparation
