This module includes one piece of summative assessment.

The module is assessed through the completion of an Applied Performance Coach Portfolio which is equivalent to 3000 words. The portfolio will comprise an observed 1- hour performance coaching session where assessment will be against core teaching skills and the use of the K2 performance model to underpin conceptualisation and intervention. Further the portfolio will comprise an 2000 word record of coaching activities - including:

- A log of coaching, supervision, reading and other personal development activities
- 2 x critical reflections of using performance coaching tools and techniques in coaching performance improvements
- 1 x case account of using K2 performance model to guide intervention choice through the course of a coaching engagement
- 3 x reflective sheets on supervision meetings - individual and group
- Development action plan

This portfolio is worth 100% of the module mark and assesses LO's 1, 2, 3, and 4

Module Indicative Content
This module considers the application of performance coaching principles, models, and skills in high performance situations. To this end, the module includes content on the following themes:

- The K2 performance model - using it to understand and conceptualise performers thoughts, feelings and behaviours
- Conceptualisation into action - planning and auctioning interventions
- Coaching skills - advanced questioning, restating/reflecting, and probing
- Challenging coaching - using techniques and skills to challenge and direct
- Exploiting resource - working with performers to consistently and effectively use existing resource
- Building resource - working with performers to build skill and capacity
- Coaching in action
Module Learning Strategies
Scheduled Learning and Teaching Activities: (24 hours)
8 hours - 'Performance Coaching in Action' Masterclass
8 hours (minimum) - Individual and/or group supervision sessions with course tutor (also contributes to The Performance Coach)
8 hours (minimum) - Peer supervision - individual and/or group (also contributes to The Performance Coach)

4 hours - Preparation for Masterclass - reading

32 hours - Experiential practice - preparation, delivery and follow up with performer
