Assessment Details
There are 2 pieces of summative assessment associated with this module. Each piece of assessment does not have to be passed in order to pass the module overall. Details of the assessment(s) are below:

Assessment 1 (LO1 + LO2): Pod-cast/Audio Recording
The first assessment will be in the form of a pod-cast/audio-recording, which will account for 50% of the module grade. The audio recording should last for a minimum of 6 minutes, and no more than 8 minutes in duration. The pod-cast/audio-recording will focus upon communicating theoretical and experiential knowledge to critically evaluate the role of the football coach and appraising emerging knowledge, skills and understanding of a variety of sector specific issues.

Assessment 2 (LO3 + LO4): Viva Voce (FINAL ASSESSMENT)
The second assessment will be in the form of a viva voce, which will account for 50% of the module grade. The viva voce will be 10 minutes in duration. The viva voce will focus upon the self-reflection of students’ professional development, evidence of progress towards meeting some of the current professional standards for football coaching practitioners, and identifying further professional training and experience required for employment in the sector.

The pass criteria is explained within the course handbook. All students must attempt both of the assessments, with 40% as the criteria at which a pass will be achieved. If students do not submit, or fail to achieve a pass grade in their assessment, then the ramifications of this are detailed in the course handbook.

Additional Assessment Details (include formative feedback / assessment):
Students will be given the opportunity to explore the best practice for conducting a pod-cast/audio-recording within a seminar. This will enable the students to be prepared for their summative assessment. Furthermore, students will be given the opportunity to prepare and practice with peers for their viva-voce assessment. Informal tutor feedback will be provided during seminars.
