Indicative Content
The placement module aims to provide experience of learning from and applying knowledge and skills to a sport and exercise science relevant working environment. The module provides students with the opportunity to develop key personal and transferable skills by applying their knowledge and skills to a specific context relevant to their course or area(s) of interest. Whilst the placement module has generic aims and learning outcomes, the specific detail of each placement will be determined by the module leader and other supervisory lecturing staff. Skills in reflection and communication will be developed as part of this module.
Assessment Details

A PLACEMENT LOGBOOK AND REFLECTION, worth 70% of the overall mark and assessing LOs 1 and 3.

An ORAL PRESENTATION, worth 30% of the overall mark, assessing LO 2.

Additional Assessment Details (including formative feedback / assessment:

The PLACEMENT LOGBOOK AND REFLECTION is to contain details of activities undertaken by the student, as well as their personal reflections on these activities with regards to their experience, and their skill and knowledge development. An evaluation of the student ¿s future development needs for their chosen career path, based on their placement experiences and activities will also be contained within this logbook.

The ORAL PRESENTATION will require students to provide a critical overview and understanding of their placement host to others (e.g., students on their course and relevant others), with the idea being that they articulate and evaluate the function and operation of their organisation and of the requirements needed to be successful within/with the organisation, so that others can learn from their experiences.

Each element of assessment must be submitted.
