Indicative Content
The placement module aims to provide experience of learning from and applying knowledge to a Sport Strength and Conditioning relevant working environment. The module provides students with the opportunity to develop key personal and transferable skills by applying their knowledge and skills to a specific context relevant to their Award or areas of interest. Whilst the placement module has generic aims and learning outcomes the detail of each placement will be determined by the module leader and other supervisory lecturing staff.
Assessment Details
1. A logbook collecting key information about the host organisation and its operations. This will include information such as organisational structure, personnel, mission statement, working policies etc. In addition, the logbook will contain details of activities undertaken by the student and personal reflections on learning following completion of these activities. Weighted at 50% of the overall module mark assessing LO's 1, 2 and 3.

2. A 2000-word reflective commentary essay on an end of placement performance report completed by the host organisation. This will help students critically analyse their strengths and weaknesses during their placement. This will be worth 50% of the overall mark. To assess LO's 2, 3 and 4.

3. An attendance register detailing the hours spent at the placement host. This should total 150 hours and all entries should be signed off by the placement mentor to confirm attendance. This will be worth 0% of the overall mark assessing LO's 1 and 3.

All elements of assessment must be passed although it is mandatory that 150 hours are attended and confirmed by placement mentor signature to complete the module.

Additional Assessment Details (including formative feedback / assessment:
Students will be provided with formative assessment and feedback via a series of mandatory meetings that they are required to attend with their University placement supervisor across the term of their placement. Placement progress and review of draft work will be assessed during these meetings.
Learning Strategies
Scheduled Learning and Teaching Activities: (16 hours)
10 hours of lectures/workshops.
6 hours contact with placement supervisor

Guided Independent Study: (284 hours)
150 hours (minimum practical experiential hours) at placement host organisation
34 hours student-led independent study into assessment preparation (during placement) 184 hours to be managed by the student to complete session preparation, independent study and assessment preparation.
