ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Reflective Essay – LO2 – the assessment is a reflective piece based on the students experience throughout the placement module. The student can choose to focus on one specific situation or their learning as a whole. The student should utilise a well-known reflective cycle to support their work.

Placement Hours – LO1 – the assessment is a log book of the students placement hours. The student must complete 200 hours minimum to pass this element of assessment.

Practical Assessment – LO1 – the assessment will be a ‘final’ assessment where the student could have any case scenario based on any injury they have come across the their three years on the course. The student would meet their ‘client’ and work through a case scenario taking the client from a full assessment, rehabilitation in the clinic to offering home exercises.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
To enable students to gain experience working within a sports therapy related environment and to make an effective contribution to the operation of the host organisation.

Students may choose to attend a placement from a selection of University approved partners (subject to availability) or may negotiate a placement independently of their choice subject to certain qualifying criteria. Examples of work placement host organisations may include sports therapy / injury clinics, sports teams, health clubs, or related organisations such as physiotherapy / osteopathy clinics etc...

Students should aim to undertake placements at a minimum of 2 different organisations. Ideally these will be from different areas of sports therapy (e.g. a sports injury clinic and a sports team, or a physiotherapy practice and a health club) to gain as much global experience of the industry as possible. It is expected that these placements will change approximately mid-way through the module (Christmas time) and should be of roughly equal length.
