ASSESSMENT DETAILS
A multiple choice examination (weighted 60%, covering LO1) and a case study based group project which investigates the functional areas of an organisation and the contribution each functional area makes to the organisation’s objectives and ultimate success. (weighted 40%, covering LO2).
INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module familiarises students with the principles of business functions within an organization
The module includes:
• Different organisation structures, purposes and objectives.
• The role of specific business functions inside the organisation (accounts, marketing, human resources, purchasing).
• Interactions between different business functions
• Internal and external services supporting the business functions

Students will engage in a variety of learning forums including:
Tutor-led formal presentations, group-based tutorials. There will also be a technology supported guided learning programme via the VLE.
