Module Additional Assessment Details
An assignment which critically evaluates research methods in relation to a chosen theoretical framework length 2000 words weighted at 100% which covers all learning outcomes.
Module Indicative Content
This module covers different research methodologies. It provides the tools and techniques for completion of the project module. The topics covered are: ideas generation, reviewing and evaluation of literature, research approaches and strategies, access and ethical issues, sampling techniques, secondary data sources, observational and interview research, questionnaire design and development, analysing quantitative and qualitative data and discussion of findings.
Module Learning Strategies
This module is delivered during teaching block 3 of the fast track award. The learning strategy for the module requires students to commit to 150 learning hours (including assessment).
There will be 30 hours of blended learning of which 12 hours (6 hours lectures and 6 hours tutorials) will be delivered during the two week accelerated learning stage and 18 hours of tutor directed study which will be delivered through the virtual learning environment.
In addition there will be 120 hours of independent and self-directed study. Learning support material will be provided for the module.
