Module Indicative Content
Students will take part in a one week international study tour. This module allows the student to apply business and management knowledge gained from previous modules and to integrate that knowledge to produce a management/business project.

NOTE: Learner support for theories, models and other tools will be available via the module website both before and after the internationall study tour.
Library and internet sites. A portfolio of appropriate academic articles and other readings will be provided to students.

Module Additional Assessment Details
There are three elements of assessment:
1. A Team Project Plan (completed during the residential visit). Group proposal 1,000 words maximum (10% weighting). LO1 and 2.
2. Team Project Presentation (completed after the residential visit). Group assignment (50% weighting) LO1, 2 and 3.
3. Individual consultancy-type report relevant to the award on which you are studying 1,500 words (40% weighting) LO2 and 3.
Module Learning Strategies
Before the study tour:
Students are expected to attend preparatory tutor-led sessions that will revisit relevant theories and models plus key aspects of the study tour visit and assessment tasks. Key themes and concepts will be developed further on the study tour, e.g. in a de-briefing session linking key theories to company visits.
During the study tour:
Students will be given the opportunity to learn from observation, i.e. company visits and formal/informal interaction with experts.
Students are expected to work both individually and as part of a team.
There will be 6 hours of tutor led contact time prior to the study tour.
Specifically:
3 hours covering aspects of the study tour and assessment
3 hours of lectures that will re-visit relevant theories/models.
