Brief Description: Corporate or business strategy formulation for a selected company.
Length: max. 3000 words.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
• Basic functions and characteristics of strategic management and strategic processes, intended and emergent strategies.
• Instrumentalism, management recipes and paradigms.
• Analysing factors which influence the organisation in business conditions, the competitive environment, stakeholders, internal environment - assessing resource capability and control of the value chain.
• Methodological issues and research related to strategic management
• Strategic management concept, its evaluation and selection
• Strategic management system design in international comparison.
• Corporate and business strategy design frameworks in different contexts
• Strategic Choice: Options, Evaluation and Implementation to secure competitive advantage
• Organisational structures, cultures and processes and their strategic significance
• Managing change and strategic renewal. Changing styles, cultures and leadership.

1. Critically understand presented strategic management concepts and its application in a specific organisation on a local and global level.

LEARNING STRATEGIES
Students will engage in direct teaching sessions / lectures and following structured learning.

Following the lectures and prior to completing assessment students will engage with guided learning which will consolidate all new knowledge and understanding.

Independent learning strategies will include electronic consultations, electronic discussion groups and if asked for - personal consultations / advice with lecture team members.
