• Information, grounding of the theory of information and decision-making
• Types and attributes of information systems
• Relation between information systems and levels of management
• Information security
• Management information systems and data-mining
• IS/IT as strategic business asset
• IS/IT governance
• IS/IT strategy and its relation with the concept of strategic management according to BIBS
• Alternative IS/IT strategy, ITIL and Cobit management systems
• IS/IT strategic analysis
• Proposal of IS/IT strategy
LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Exhibit a systematic understanding of the theory of information, relation between information systems and levels of management, IS/IT strategy and other functional and superior strategies. Knowledge and understanding

2. Review on alternative IS/IT strategies and management systems, for example ITIL, Cobit etc. and demonstrate the independence in learning of techniques for the strategic analysis IS/IT by creation of a proposal of IS/IT strategy.

3. Analyse collected information in the structure and form necessary for strategic decision-making. Analysis

4. Evaluate complex issues both systematically and creatively regarding IS/IT strategy.
Problem Solving
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Students will engage in direct teaching sessions / lectures and following structured learning.

Following the lectures and prior to completing assessment students will engage with guided learning which will consolidate all new knowledge and understanding.

Independent learning strategies will include electronic consultations, electronic discussion groups and if asked for - personal consultations / advice with lecture team members.
