Brief Description: Convincing dissertation project proposal and Chapter 1 of the MBA Dissertation and research results and its analysis (part of Chapter 2)
Length: max. 5000 words (excluding appendices).
INDICATIVE CONTENT
The module is aimed at developing knowledge sufficient for carrying out and writing up a managerial project at the Master’s level – MBA Dissertation.
In the first part a feedback to assignments from preceding Management Research Methods module is given to students and a block of lectures on the issue of strategic management research on corporate practice follows.
Lectures and discussions concerning management of managerial research in practice (organisation and implementation of research, no more methodology) are also on the programme in this part.
The last block is devoted to the assignment. It is designed in the manner that a student implements and interprets a research planned for his/her MBA dissertation in the assignment from the preceding Management Research Methods module.

LEARNING STRATEGIES
Students will engage in direct teaching sessions / lectures and following structured learning.
Following the lectures and prior to completing assessment students will engage with guided learning which will consolidate all new knowledge and understanding.
Independent learning strategies will include electronic consultations, electronic discussion groups and if asked for - personal consultations / advice with lecture team members.
a) Lectures
The module will utilise a variety of student - centred learning methods, including participative lectures and case studies. Key theoretical areas will be covered by lectures, supplemented by examples and case studies.
In the case of aspects of managerial research, key theoretical areas will be covered by lectures supported by real life examples (cases, documents, etc.). Students are also encouraged to discuss various issues. The lecture also covers team work focused on performing key steps, e.g. a brief definition of the research.
b) Electronic consultations – virtual communication scheme
Theoretical knowledge, practical solutions as well as draft of assignment could be discussed via electronic communication scheme (of-line, on-line).
c) Electronic discussion groups
Knowledge, theoretical – practical findings, personal experience, different ideas of members of study cohort could be shared via virtual environment – discussion groups.
d) Personal consultations - advice
Based on student’s request, personal consultation and meeting could be seen as an important tool of learning process.
e) Work based activities
Theoretical knowledge and techniques developed through lectures and case studies will be applied to personal assignment. Final version of assignment is subject of assessment.
