Brief Description:
Select one from following, according to your study programme:
a) MBA: Formulation of general strategy covering relation with public and government bodies in a selected company.
b) MSC: Critical essay focused on analysis and evaluation of public funding opportunities for a particular company and its business growth and development.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
• Introduction to public private relationship ( role of the state and the government in the private sector – concept, theoretical background, historical development)
• Bureaucracy and strategic differences between public and private management styles
• Conflict avoiding behaviour regarding public institutions (due diligence, compliance, social responsibility)
• Politics and business – interconnections, common ground and cleavages.
• Various level of public government (European, national, regional, municipal) and operating on those level from the company perspective
• European and regional funding, cohesion and structural funds (funding schemes, project management, evaluation, impact)
• Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects

1. Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of various types of roles of the state and government in the business sector.

LEARNING STRATEGIES
Students will engage in direct teaching sessions / lectures and following structured learning.

Following the lectures and prior to completing assessment students will engage with guided learning which will consolidate all new knowledge and understanding.

Independent learning strategies will include electronic consultations, electronic discussion groups and if asked for - personal consultations / advice with lecture team members.
