Module Additional Assessment Details
1. A project study & evaluation (80%)
A 10,000 word submission incorporating:
Part A: Literature review and primary research incorporating critical assessment & evaluation drawing on relevant & contemporary theory & frameworks and reasoned conclusions.
(6,000 words)
Part B: Showcase Report: Rationale, Approach, Project Environment, Project Plan, Risk Management, Recommendations. Lessons learned - or whatever is appropriate to your project (4,000 words)
3. Impact Presentation presentation (20%)
A 20 minute presentation followed by Q&A to a panel of 3xnominated academic staff/employer representative.

Module Indicative Content
Learning
Identify a suitable approach & methodology to prepare and conduct an investigation into a problem/practice based individual Project.Characterise, evaluate& critically reason conclusions and/or recommendations with reference to appropriate underpinning theory and/or frameworks.
Practice
Conduct a critical reasoned evaluation from analysis of secondary data and/or primary research to draw robust conclusions & make recommendations relating to an approved problem/practice based topic.
Implement the chosen project in the workplace, within the scope proposed, using knowledge of Project Management techniques to address any obstacles or challenges faced for the duration.
Evaluate the wider implications of Project conclusions and how they relate more generally to business.
A series of seminars addressing the basic methodology & principles of Project/Case Study definition, preparation, primary research methodology, & evaluation.
• Reflect critically on the underpinning management & leadership competencies as they relate to the Project topic.
Examples of a problem/practice based Project activity could include:
1. Development and implementation of a strategy or organisational strategic plan
22. A strategic market or specific project plan.
4. A project addressing callenges associated with deployment of a new product and/or service.
5. A critical financial evaluation of company performance and/or investment opportunity and subsequent actions
6. Implementation of a organisational training & development strategy
7. Implementation of a of performance management strategy.
8. Implementation and critical evaluation of a change management initiative.
Module Learning Outcomes
1. Employ a range of critical evaluation techniques to demonstrate a systematic awareness, understanding and knowledge of contemporary management & leadership issues associated with the project topic. Knowledge and Understanding

2x6 hours(12 hours total) seminar on problem/practice based case study & research methodology evaluation techniques
10 hours 1:1 Project supervision
Independent study - drawing on T&L across MSLMDA module topics. The project should be based on and/or derived from current employment experience.
All projects will be assigned a principal academic supervisor.
