Additional Assessment Details
Overview:

The strategic business proposal and professional discussion require the student to prepare and deliver a presentation with questioning based on a strategic business proposal they have identified which has business benefit. This is part of the formal end-point assessment (EPA) and begins once the student has gone through the gateway. It is a 12-week duration for the student to write and submit the proposal and a further 4 weeks in which the presentation and professional discussion will take place with the Independent End Point Assessor (IPEA) in order to complete the EPA fully.

A scoping document of 500 words setting out the proposal is submitted in the first instance at the gateway – this should demonstrate that the project will provide opportunity for the apprentice to sufficiently demonstrate the KSBs required.

Strategic Business Proposal:

This element is a written report of 4000 words setting out the strategic business proposal which has been identified on the basis of business benefit. It will be a detailed proposal that will enable the project to be implemented in the future – implementation is not required for EPA completion.

Learning Outcomes 1 and 2.

Strategic Business Proposal Presentation:

The students will prepare and deliver an individual presentation of their proposal ensuring that it appropriately covers the KSBs assigned. The presentation is followed by a professional discussion with questions on a one-to-one basis between the Independent End-point Assessor (IEPA) and the student.
