Module Indicative Content
Following an introduction to the way in which companies and designers associated with ceramics and surface pattern compile concept boards, you will be required to collect, compile and co-ordinate relevant information on a particular theme in a considered and selective manner.
This will include library and internet research and include market research gathered from the high street/retail outlets.
Design themes, moods and colour stories will be generated to suggest a specific style and flavour and you will research into contemporary trends and forecasts before developing your own concepts and explore original design ideas.
Composition, placement and arrangement are of utmost importance as is the ability to be selective.
Consideration will also be given to scale, colour and composition and you will be introduced to the breadth of design application, context and use.
Module Learning Strategies
Whole group briefings, small group tutorials and individual tutorials.
You are also expected to undertake self managed research and complete specific set exercises.
