This module is an introduction to the use of Photoshop as a means of manipulating artwork created both digitally and by hand. The emphasis is on achieving sufficient technical proficiency to be able to appreciate the opportunities and constraints of the software and to be able to integrate this into all other aspects of course work.
You will be expected to explore and manipulate various digital techniques relevant to surface design and be able to prepare art work suitable for digital printing onto a variety of surfaces (textiles, stationery, ceramics).
You will gain an insight into professional practice, how Photoshop is used by the industry and the knowledge to place your art work in context by producing professionally formatted and visualised designs.
